Company T-Shirts in Bulk India 2026: A Buyer's Guide for HR, Events and Brand Teams
A complete buyer's guide to company t-shirts in bulk India 2026 — when to choose round-neck vs polo, fabric and GSM by use case, single-design vs multi-design programmes, sizing across India's body-size spectrum, and the procurement playbook that delivers consistent quality at scale.
By Pawandeep Bhullar, Co-Founder, Corpokit
Company t-shirts in bulk are the most-procured apparel category in Indian corporate gifting — annual-day tees, hackathon tees, sports-day tees, manufacturing-floor uniforms, sales-rally polos, and onboarding-kit tees together account for the majority of bulk apparel orders we ship. This buyer's guide walks through the format, fabric, sizing, and procurement decisions that separate a programme that runs smoothly from one where 20% of the order needs to be re-ordered.
Round-Neck, Polo or Hoodie: Picking the Right Format
Round-neck (₹185–₹320). The default for events, daily-wear, manufacturing-floor, and casual-culture companies. Most cost-effective. Universally accepted. Available in widest fabric and GSM range.
Polo collar (₹280–₹550). The choice for client-facing, sales, hospitality, BFSI, and senior-IC roles. Doubles as semi-formal wear. Embroidered logo on polo > printed logo on polo. Pique cotton (165 GSM) is the polo fabric standard.
Full-sleeve / hoodie (₹350–₹650). Winter wear, tech-team identity (the 'engineering hoodie'), and outdoor-event programmes. Best paired with embroidered or large-area DTF logos.
Mix-and-match programmes. Many companies issue round-neck to general staff (₹220 budget) and polo to managers (₹420 budget) under a single PO — keeps brand consistent, signals tier without explicit hierarchy.
Fabric and GSM by Use Case
Annual day / event tees (single-use). 160 GSM bi-blend, screen print, MOQ 200+, ₹175–₹220 per piece. Cheap, looks good once, doesn't matter if the recipient doesn't wear it again.
Daily-wear employee tees. 180 GSM 100% cotton, screen print or DTF, MOQ 100, ₹220–₹320 per piece. The corporate-apparel sweet spot.
Client-facing polos (sales, hospitality, BFSI). 165–180 GSM pique cotton, embroidered logo, MOQ 50, ₹380–₹550 per piece.
Premium / leadership / external-event tees. 220 GSM 100% cotton, embroidered or premium DTF, MOQ 50, ₹420–₹650 per piece.
Manufacturing / factory-floor work shirts. 200 GSM heavy cotton, double-stitched, screen print, MOQ 100, ₹280–₹420 per piece.
Sizing, Size Mix and Recipient-Specific Ordering
The pan-India standard size mix (S 10% / M 30% / L 35% / XL 20% / XXL 5%) is a starting point, not a rule. Adjust by region: South Indian offices need more S+M, North Indian offices need more XL+XXL.
Collect sizes from recipients above 100 units. A simple Google form with name, designation, address, T-shirt size avoids 15–25% mis-sized waste.
For events (where you don't know recipient sizes in advance), order to the standard mix and have 5–10% buffer in M and L. Returns from events are rare; better to over-stock the middle sizes.
For long-term programmes (e.g., uniforms with monthly issue), build a quarterly stock-take where actuals are reconciled against the size-mix forecast and the next quarter's order is adjusted.
Size-form compliance. For pan-India bulk dispatches, integrate the size-form into the new-hire flow so the kit dispatch is automatic — see our welcome kits page for the operational model.
Procurement Checklist for Bulk Company T-Shirts
Lock the spec. Format (round-neck/polo/hoodie), fabric (cotton/bi-blend), GSM (140/180/220), weave (single jersey/pique), colour code (Pantone), neck type, sleeve length. Vague specs are the #1 source of post-delivery disputes.
Approve a pre-production sample. Charged sample on the actual fabric lot, with the actual print, in the actual size. Written approval before bulk production starts.
Get an all-in landed-cost quote. Ex-GST unit + GST (12% under HSN 6109) + packaging (per-piece poly-bag and size label) + freight (per-piece pan-India). Compare like-for-like.
Lock the dispatch date with penalties. 10–14 days standard. Penalty clauses for missed dispatch should be in the PO — most vendors agree to 1–2% per week of delay if pushed.
Inspect AQL 2.5 on inbound. Reject any batch that fails GSM (±5%), print quality (colour-fastness, registration), sizing (chest / length tolerance), or stitch (open seams, loose threads). See our QC checklist.
GST and ITC. Apparel attracts 12% GST under HSN 6109. ITC is blocked for free-gift apparel; ITC may be available for uniforms tied to the employment contract — document accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Round-neck or polo for company t-shirts in India?
Round-neck for general staff, events, daily-wear, and casual-culture companies (IT services, SaaS, D2C, manufacturing floor). Polo for managers, sales, client-facing roles, BFSI / consulting / hospitality cultures, and any context where the t-shirt doubles as semi-formal wear. Many companies issue both — round-neck for the team, polo for managers and above.
How many sizes should a bulk company t-shirt order include?
Five sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL is the standard. The standard ratio is 10/30/35/20/5 — but adjust regionally: South-India offices skew smaller (S+M heavier), Punjab and Haryana skew larger (XL+XXL heavier). Always collect a size-form from each recipient for orders above 100 units to avoid waste.
What fabric and GSM should I pick for company t-shirts in India?
180 GSM 100% cotton is the default for corporate daily-wear. 160 GSM bi-blend for high-volume event tees (lower cost, wrinkle resistant). 220 GSM cotton for premium / winter / outdoor. Pique cotton (165 GSM) for polos. Avoid below 140 GSM unless cost is the only driver — the recipient feels the difference instantly.
Can we order company t-shirts with multiple designs in one PO?
Yes — most vendors allow multiple designs per PO at MOQ 50 per design per colour. Useful for: team-specific designs (Engineering, Sales, Ops), event-specific (Annual Day, Hackathon, Wellness Week), or tier-specific (interns get one design, managers get another). Setup cost scales per design, so consolidate where possible.
How long does it take to deliver bulk company t-shirts pan-India?
Standard production 10–14 days, plus 3–7 days dispatch (1–2 days Delhi NCR, 3–5 days Mumbai/Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune, 5–7 days Northeast / hill stations). Plan for 18–21 days end-to-end. Rush production (5–7 days) is possible at 15–25% surcharge for DTF-only print methods.
How do I avoid the 'cotton feels different from the sample' problem?
Approve a physical pre-production sample on the exact fabric, GSM, and supplier-lot the bulk will be cut from. Get the supplier to share the fabric mill name and lot number on the invoice. Inspect inbound AQL 2.5 — reject any deviation in GSM, weave, or hand-feel.
